THE MADMAN’S COVE

Our life in this world is often quiet confusing, all the questions which we often think are never answerable creates this madness within us.
Most of us often think what’s the line between sanity and insanity, a perfect life and a hurdled one, and even what it means to have a peaceful life! Maddening as it seems but it’s the fact that we are never satisfied with what we have and this is what gets us baffled about what lies beyond, which in reality is the major reason for almost all the madness around us.
We never give in a second thought when it comes to our ideologies like religion, relation etc. Life is often very simple but we as humans often insist on making it complicated. Our ideologies about life and societal upbringing changes humans from simple beings to often the most beasty of nature. Now that’s a contradiction to what we believe that a social life would bring less of a beast in us and make us more human.
We often forget that the purpose of life is to be happy, and it’s in that context that we are always wanting for more. Our desire to want more is coupled with the idea “more you have, the happier you will be”!! We don’t teach our children about the very essence of life rather focus only on the “more ideology”.
When such things are induced into you from childhood how different a person can be when he is mature. The reason for the rat race we see in today is our mentality, which essentially creates out of our world a madman’s cove.
Sholom Aleichem states, “life is a dream for the wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, and a tragedy for the poor”. Why is this statement true in our life?
Is it the reality of life? Well, it’s not!
The happiness lies within our thinking rather than our external situations. The way we think creates the life around us. The choices in our life essentially creates happiness or is the reason for all the troubles we are facing.
We have to understand the line between sanity or insanity or between the happiness and sadness is anything but our own choices. And what’s the relation between the madman’s cove and thinking?
Well it’s pretty clear! the choices.
The choices create the world we live in, whether to make it happy or sad. it’s clear that it is our choice on what we teach our kids, it’s our choice to be happy and content in life, it’s our choice to have freedom of thoughts!
The life around us became terrible when we forgot to understand this idea. We go for “the more principle” which often restrains our choices and leaves us in the depths of unhappiness which builds the world around us.
As its been rightly put, “the world has enough for everyone’s need, but not for everyone’s greed”.
When we are given more choices we often get choked up on the selection. People often get confused on how to make a choice.
The choices are not pretty easy to make given at any point of time. If given with two and ask to choose among them, we would be pretty prompt in doing it but our selection will hit a stand still when abundant choices are given.
If you want to decide on your choice, always see whether your choice will affect your morale or would affect others in any way badly.
It’s always good to refrain from the choices that would make others sad, as well as being open minded and receptive about the situation would bring in more clarity on the choices that we have to make.
When in doubt consult your experiences and keep repeating the choice in your mind and ask questions about the same.
As hard it is to make a choice, the very essence of humanity lies on this one fact. If we make our choices in consideration with others the world would be a happy place rather than a madman’s cove.
